Learning to live with a new diet
It can be hard to know where to start when you’re told you can’t eat what you’re used to. These days, AI like ChatGPT or Microsoft CoPilot can help you plan out a menu. Below I have include an example meal plan that AI can provide you. As always with AI, the more detailed your prompt is, the better output you will get. You can’t break AI either, so don’t be afraid to experiment with different prompts. That being said, I have also included a link to a section on the types of meals that I actually make as someone that has 6fed allergies and a few more, to hopefully give you some ideas on how you can construct your own meals.
I will just add that socialising can be daunting on this diet and if you are being medically monitored, not worth the risk to your test results. However, if like me, you are on this diet for the long haul, then get used to packing your own lunch and being clear with family and friends that you just can’t eat out, or better still, invite people over to yours for a meal where you can control the ingredients! (I will confess that at times, I have to fall off the wagon and just eat something I shouldn’t, life is too short to be 100% strict 100% of the time!).
AI meal Plans
Here is a prompt that I used to generate a meal plan, you can tailor this easily to suit your need or dietary preferences:
“Can you prepare a menu for me that strictly adheres to the 6fed diet. It should contain ingredients that are easily available in the UK. It should consist of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with suggested snacks and an optional Dessert. Please present this menu in a table, include the time it takes to prepare and the time it takes to cook. Please also include cooking instructions.”
You can adjust this to also include a shopping list from your favourite supermarket, like Ocado, M&S, Lidl or Tesco.
